Western Wood-Pewee is a common transient migratory bird in Guatemala. Migratory seasons are extensive; northbound migrants can still be seen in May and southbound migrants can be seen already in July. Summer records from June are rare in Guatemala. Breeding of Western Wood-Pewee in Guatemala was supposed for long, but a nest found in June 2017 was the first nesting record for the country.
